Nestled in the heart of Virginia's countryside, this iconic inn has been a favorite destination for politicians and celebrities since 1978. The property combines European country opulence with historic American charm, offering a truly unique and luxurious stay. When tasked with replacing a dark, dated, and confusing website with something bright, new, and intuitive, it was important to preserve the whimsical flair and extraordinary level of artistry that The Inn is known for.
Crafting a website for a unique and storied establishment like The Inn at Little Washington comes with its fair share of challenges. One of the principal considerations was maintaining loyalty to the property's classical identity, while still modernizing the website enough to make it instinctive and easy to use. Another obstacle was ensuring that the website accurately displays the personality of The Inn without forsaking the streamlined, clean ambience of the revamped site.
These difficulties were resolved by designing an intentional layout, incorporating a unified spacing system, utilizing cohesive typography, and using color carefully. The use of stunning photography and illustration throughout captures the essence of the property, from the award-winning cuisine to the elaborate interior design. The new website highlights The Inn's distinctive character and grand legacy, inviting guests to embark on a whimsical journey before even stepping foot on property.
